  • General Statement of Duties: This is a managerial/supervisory position in the Essex County Sheriff’s Department. This position is primarily responsible for data collection, analysis and presentation; project management; representing ECSD as the CJ360 Data Champion to monitor, track, and report on data quality and compliance per Commonwealth standards and policy. Supervision Received: Incumbent works under the general supervision of the Superintendent of Special Projects/Strategic Planning & Policy. The Superintendent of Special Projects/Strategic Planning and Policy provides instruction and guidance, assigns work and reviews performance through oral and written feedback. Essential Functions: · Data collection via primary and secondary sources to support cross-functional teams and divisions within ECSD. · Statistical modeling to identify patterns and trends. · Examine, analyze, interpret data and prepare research reports as needed. · Maintain and update distribution of scheduled reports (auto-generated and manually generated). · Work closely with Superintendents to design and implement all new data collection systems to manage, monitor and resolve data issues; produce reports as needed. · Coordinate with all ECSD divisions to research, write and produce the Annual Report. · Maintain regular reporting on Department’s Dashboard including, but not limited to; Inmate Incident/Staff Response; Inmate Deaths, Inmate Suicide databases, CASE and MAT counts. · Assist Grants Administrator with grant data collection requirements. · Maintain a professional relationship with other departments and staff, as well as counterparts in other correctional facilities. · Maintain CJIS certification & Dissemination Log for all CJIS information shared.   • General Statement of Duties: This position serves under the direct supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Inspection and Compliance Division. PSA Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the implementation of the ECSD’s strategic plan to comply with the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) of 2003 and all applicable standards. PSA Coordinator is responsible for providing suicide prevention activities including trainings, outreach to Emergency Departments, and reporting. PSA Coordinator is responsible for ECSD’s efforts to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and its services and accommodations for all inmates. Assist the department by ensuring that policy and procedures are implemented. Perform other related duties such as training, policies, rules and regulations to subordinates. Supervision Received: Works under the direct supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Inspections and Compliance Division. As designee of the Superintendent of the Office of Professional Standards, will assign work and review performance through oral and written reports for adherence to policy and conformance with rules and regulations. Supervision Exercised: Exercises supervision of work assigned to ECCF, ECPRC and WIT facilities PREA and Suicide Prevention managers. Works collaboratively with ECSD, Wellpath, Spectrum staff to ensure compliance with Federal regulations. Essential Functions: · Must have a thorough knowledge of, and be able to perform, all of the essential functions of a certified correctional officer with the rank of officer (See Correctional Officer Position Description). · Serve as the Department’s PREA Coordinator, Suicide Prevention Coordinator and the ADA Coordinator. · Provide support to members of the department’s PREA committee and PREA managers; and facilitate PREA monthly meetings. · Daily interaction with the inmate population to provide 30-day assessments. · Comply with governing standards at the Middleton Facility, the Pre-Release Center, and the Women in Transition Center by developing policies and procedures. · Conduct annual review of policies and procedures, suggesting revision to existing policies. · Collect and analyze data concerning all incidents of sexually abusive behavior perpetrated by staff or inmates on other inmates. · Develop objectives and provide detailed reports to the Sheriff and to Federal Agencies as appropriate. · Review documentation for inmate requests for Reasonable Accommodations. · Play a role in the department’s Morbidity-Mortality Review process. · Receive, review, and, when appropriate, assist in the implementation of any reasonable recommendations for corrective action arising from the morbidity and mortality review process.
