The Minneapolis VA Health Care System is one of the leading health care systems serving Veterans in the Midwest VA Health Care Network. Minneapolis VA Health Care System has maintained an active accredited research program affiliated with the University of Minnesota for over 90 years. Responsibilities The Minneapolis VA Health Care System is seeking a Full-Time or Part-Time, Board Certified Neurosurgeon. The Minneapolis VAHCS is a busy, tertiary care Medical Center which provides complex neurosurgical care to Veterans. The successful candidate will be capable of a broad Neurosurgical practice. The Minneapolis VAHCS is an affiliated medical student and resident training site with the University of Minnesota, Department of Neurosurgery. The successful candidate should be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level at the University of Minnesota, Department of Neurosurgery. Experience and dedication to supervising and training residents and medical students is a requirement. The successful candidate should also have a exemplary track record and a commitment to research. At least a 5/8 FTE appointment qualifies for a VA funding application. There is opportunity to develop sub specialization particularly if the applicant has an interest in complex spine.
