Job Details The Surgical Technician works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse in delivering safe and effective care to patients in the intraoperative period. Assists the RN in planning patient care by appropriately selecting supplies and equipment needed for cases. Checks that instrumentation and equipment are in working order. Maintains aseptic technique throughout set up and surgical intervention. Shows awareness of patient condition and special needs. Anticipates surgeons\' needs during intraoperative phase. Maintains patient safety by adhering to fire prevention strategies. Maintains patients safety by adhering to safe medication handling strategies. Correctly handles and identifies surgical specimens. Safely disposes of biohazardous material. Actively participates in room turnover between cases. Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required; Completion of accredited surgical technician program required New York State Surgical Technician Certification through the NBSTSA required. On-call rotation required BLS from American Heart Association required. Prior surgical technician experience preferred. Must be computer-literate. Must be able to read and write basic English. Salary Range USD $37.02 - USD $44.50 /Hr.
