The Department of Asian Studies at Hobart and William Smith Colleges invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in the languages and cultures of Southwest Asia and North Africa (SWANA) beginning August 1, 2025. This is a full-time one-year position with a teaching load of four courses per year. The appointment has the possibility for renewal contingent on successful annual review and ongoing curricular needs. The fellow will be expected to teach three courses per year in Modern Standard Arabic at the elementary and intermediate levels, with an additional English-language course in Arabic literature and/or cinema.

Hobart and William Smith Colleges (HWS) invite applications for a Staff Psychologist to join our Counseling Center (CC) beginning in Fall 2025. As a JED Campus, HWS is dedicated to mental health and wellness, one of the key priorities of HWS’s strategic and capital campaigns.
The Assistant Director will participate in the planning, coordination and implementation of strategy and tactics that enable the Colleges to recruit and enroll intellectually-curious students. The Assistant Director’s responsibilities will include territory management (travel, correspondence and communication with prospective students and secondary school personnel), interviewing prospective, hosting on-campus events, management of student assistants, and prospective student application review. Directed by the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director will oversee two initiatives designed to support the institution’s enrollment goals. Evenings and weekend work are frequently required at various times throughout the year.

An integral part of the Salisbury Center for Career, Professional and Experiential Education, this position assists in providing career services to students and alumni. The Career Coach provides assistance to students through workshops, in-class presentations, and individual student appointments. This position also assists in development and maintenance of career information/exploration resources. The successful candidate will demonstrate collegiality and the ability to establish collaborative relationships within and beyond the Salisbury Center. The Salisbury Center is interested in candidates who have engaged in significant service towards increasing the participation of individuals from groups historically under-represented in higher education or in their field of study.
