The Academic Department and Program Coordinator provides efficient and responsive administrative, organizational, and logistical service to two academic centers: the Center for Global Education and Centennial Center for Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Innovation. This role works both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented and dynamic environment while regularly demonstrating initiative and informed judgment. The person in this role also assists their assigned departments with coordinating, organizing, compiling, and preparing data and written reports while managing the data collection, in addition to managing payroll, procurement, and event logistics.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is responsible for obtaining patient demographics, insurance and financial information, and applicable co-pays and deductibles for all scheduled patients prior to the date of service. Responsibilities include entry of the data into the facility computer system as well as coordinating with the patient and the collection of any outstanding information/co-payments on the date of service. Responsibilities also include: Verifying payer coverage of the services to be provided to the patient, Pre-certifying the service with the payer, Obtaining any required pre-authorization(s), and documenting all information related to the certification/authorization. The PSR counsels patients on insurance and financial options, identifies billable third party payers, and determines insurance priority and coordination of benefits. Acts as a liaison to insurance companies, hospital departments, physician offices, and patients. The Patient Service Representative will be responsible for providing customer service excellence in a professional and helpful manner at all times, and serving as a resource for patients prior to services. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Minimum: High School diploma Preferred: Two or four year college degree LICENSE: PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum: Previous experience with cash collections. Preferred: Five to seven years of experience in Registration or Patient Accounts. Bilingual in Spanish and English. SKILLS: Minimum: Medical Terminology, CPT/ICD-9/10 Coding knowledge. Data entry knowledge (including diagnosis information). Overall knowledge and understanding of the revenue cycle and accounts receivable. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Computer literacy Preferred : Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical record Salary Range: $18.65-$21.66
